This is the Beach Volleyball Gold Medal Match between Ty Loomis (USA) & Hans Stolfus(USA) vs Emanuel Rego (BRA) & Ricardo Santos (BRA). Emanuel & Ricardo were the defending Olympic Gold Medalist & were currently the #1 team in the World for 6 years straight. The Gold Medal Match was in Copacabana, Brazil, in Copacabana Arena. It was their home country, their home stadium, in front of 7500 chanting, dancing, heckling, screaming fans that were all cheering for Brazil in the 2nd largest International Olympic Format Event. I live about 2 hours from chicago and let me tell you, its is prety bad down there. O conteúdo são animações criadas especialmente para a volumetria. A instalação preencheu a escultura com luz e movimento, criando uma experiência alinhada com os conceitos da marca, criada pela Tátil Design: movimento, tri-dimensionalidade. SuperUber was asked to develop an impactful experience at the launch of the Olympic Games emblem Rio 2016, and created the emblem’s first “performance”: a projection mapped onto a 2 meters-wide sculpture of the emblem, presented by the Rio 2016 Committee in Dec 31st 2010 at Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, and projected on a big LED screen for the millions at Copacabana beach on New Years eve. The content are animations created specially for the volume. The installation filled the sculpture with light and movement, and created an experience aligned with the emblem’s concepts, created by Tátil Design: movement and tridimensionality.

The city of Chicago spent tens of millions of dollars over two years in an effort to bring the 2016 Summer Olympic Games to the Midwest United States. Those efforts ended on October 2nd when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted in favor of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. As VOA’s Kane Farabaugh reports, the loss is a stunning defeat for the adopted hometown of President Barack Obama.

Gunmen in Rio de Janeiro start a gun fight in one of the city’s richest neighborhoods when they meet police patrols. Footage captured on a cell phone shows suspects in bullet-proof vests hiding behind a garbage truck. A woman bystander was killed and two police officers were hurt in the exchange of gunfire. After the shootout in Rio’s Sao Conrado neighborhood, they ran into the Intercontinental Hotel. Police swept the entire hotel and arrested ten gunmen, heavily armed with automatic weapons and grenades. A spokesman for Rio’s military police says 35 hostages were freed unharmed. [Colonel Henrique Saraiva, Military Police Spokesman]: “We have arrested ten drug traffickers, seized eight machine guns, five pistols with a lot of ammunition, a grenade. There were 35 hostages and we are checking to see if any drug traffickers have infiltrated them. It is very unlikely, but it could have happened. The hostages include 5 guests and 30 hotel workers.” Violent crime is a major problem in Rio, where heavily armed drug gangs control its many slums. Rio is Brazil’s biggest tourist destination and will host the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic games.
